Mohanlal and Mammootty mourns on the death of Pele

The entire world is in mourning over the death of Pele, the ‘football magician,’ who died on Thursday, December 29, after a long battle with cancer. Celebrities and fans of the 82-year-old legend have taken to social media to express their grief over his death. Mammootty and Mohanlal, Mollywood’s superstars, penned a sad note on his official Twitter handle and expressed gratitude for inspiring the entire world to love the beautiful game of football.

Mohanlal shared an image of Pele via Twitter and wrote, “Farewell to the king.. May your soul rest in eternal peace. Your contagious game spirit and the legacy it leaves behind will continue inspiring millions to play the game. Joining the world in mourning the loss of this legend. #Pele.”

Mammootty took to his official Twitter handle to share a photo of Pele and penned a heartfelt note that read, “Thank you for making all of us love the beautiful game of football. Rest in Peace Legend. Heartfelt condolences to his family and well-wishers around the world. #Pele.”

Mammootty’s previous work included the psychological thriller film ‘Rorschach,’ directed by ‘Kettyolaanu Ente Maalakha’ fame Nissam Basheer. The film received a lot of positive feedback from the audience and became a smash hit. Aside from Mammootty, the film also featured Sharafudheen, Grace Antony, Jagadish, and Bindu Panicker in key roles.

Meanwhile, Mammootty’s ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ and ‘Christopher’ are set to hit theatres soon. ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam,’ directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, received a lot of positive feedback at the 2022 IFFK and became the most requested film. Mohanlal’s most anticipated films, ‘Ram’ and ‘Barroz,’ are in the works.
