Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar, will reteam with Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph for the next film Ram. The film, described as a spy thriller, is now in the final stages of production. As previously reported, Mohanlal will play a RAW field officer named Ram Mohan IPS in the much-anticipated film, which will be released in two parts. The plot of Ram has purportedly been leaked on the internet, and Twitterati compares it to Shah Rukh Khan’s current flick Pathaan.
A Twitter user recently tweeted the following leaked synopsis for Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s spy thriller flick Ram: “The film focuses on the efforts of RAW to track down an agent and former spy of the organization. Ram Mohan, who went rogue and disappeared. The military needs his mental and physical abilities to deal with Bael, a terrorist group that possesses nuclear weapons capable of destroying an entire nation.” However, the credibility of the leaked synopsis has yet to be determined.
Twitterati has discovered similarities between the plot and Shah Rukh Khan’s recently released movie Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand. For the uninitiated, King Khan portrayed a RAW field officer who went into exile in the film, which centers on how he rescues the country from Outfit X leader Jim, played by John Abraham.
However, Mohanlal fans and followers are now supporting their idol’s dream project by pointing out that most of the world’s most famous spy thrillers have extremely similar plot lines. However, Ram’s creators have yet to respond to these allegations.
