Jayaraj is a director who has given the Malayalees many super-hit films that have achieved commercial success and artistic value. Earlier, Jayaraj had opened up about why he did not make the film with Mohanlal as the hero. Jayaraj had said in an interview with a channel that a film with Mohanlal got stalled due to personal reasons. He said that after the film Deshatanam, a film was prepared with Mohanlal as the central story in the background of rain, and after all the preparations including songs, costumes, and location were completed, the film was stalled due to a personal problem.
