‘The Kerala Story’ Release Today The High Court Will Consider The Ban Petition Today

The Hindi film ‘The Kerala Story’, which created controversy even before its release, will hit the theaters today. The film will be screened in 30 theaters in the state. Directed by Sudeepto Sen, the film has received widespread criticism. Today, the High Court will consider the petition filed by political parties and organizations including the Muslim League demanding the cancellation of the censor certificate and the banning of the film. Earlier this demand came before the Supreme Court but the court refused to intervene.

The plot of the film follows four women in Kerala who are converted to Islam for IS recruitment. Sudeepto Sen, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani are the actors. After the release of the trailer, the Chief Minister, Leader of the Opposition, and other leaders came against the film, alleging that it was a planned move by the Sangh Parivar to destroy the friendly atmosphere in Kerala. Meanwhile, if Kerala Story is banned in theatres, people will watch it on OTT and it is not a good trend to say that the censored film should not be screened.
