Varisu-and-Ajith

Fans of South cinema will have a lot to look forward to in 2023. Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar, two of the most adored stars, will compete at the box office with their upcoming dramas, Varisu and Thunivu, respectively. Both films will be released in theatres on January 12th, this year during Pongal, and the makers have released trailers to pique fans’ interest. For the uninitiated, these two stars have been sharing a release date after a 9-year hiatus.

The trailer for Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna’s family entertainer Varisu was released on January 4th. When questioned about it, however, they only want to admit to two. The youngest sibling’s (Thalapathy Vijay) rebellious attitude is said to be the reason for this. The plot thickens when their family business is threatened by another ruthless businessman, played by Prakash Raj. Given the unprecedented circumstances, the protagonist rises to the occasion and resolves to settle scores. The captivating video makes us wonder if he will be able to save his family’s business. Will he regain his family’s approval? Varisu appears to be a total masala entertainer. It has elements such as action, drama, comedy, romance, and music, among others.

Vamshi Paidipally directed the Tamil drama, which stars R Sarath Kumar, Jayasudha, Khushboo, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, and Sangeetha Krish in supporting roles. Praveen K. L. is in charge of editing for Dil Raju’s production companies, Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema. The music for the drama was composed by well-known composer S Thaman, and the cinematographer is Karthik Palani.

Thunivu directed by H Vinoth of Valimai is a heist thriller about a cat-and-mouse chase between a group of bank robbers and the police. While Ajith Kumar is shown as the leader of the robbers’ gang, Manju Warrier is shown as his accomplice. In Thunivu, Samuthirakani also plays DGP Dayalan. The film appears to have multiple layers of suspense. The adventure seems to be a high-intensity adrenaline rush.

In supporting roles, the film also stars Veera, John Kokken, Ajay, and Cibi Chandran, among others. The highly anticipated drama has been co-financed by Valimai director Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios under the Bayview Projects LLP banner.
