Mohanlal Strong Statement On Dowry Deaths In Kerala

Recent dowry and dowry deaths have been in the news continuously. Now actor Mohanlal has expressed his stand on this matter. Mohanlal stated that he didn’t buy any dowry on his marriage and even if his daughter gets married, there will be no such things given as a dowry.

In an interview given in connection with the promotion of the movie ‘Neru’, Mohanlal clarified his view on dowry. Having spoken against dowry in many films, Mohanlal said that there is always a conflict within him about such things happening around society, and giving and receiving dowry is not right.

Mohanlal added that the film ‘Neru’ is against such crimes in society. This is what Mohanlal said about the practice of dowry as a father of a girl. “I did not buy any dowry when I got married.  Promoting such customs is not right and that will be the same for my children’s wedding.

Jeethu Joseph also comments on this. He opined that girls nowadays are mentally strong and some girls get emotional. “Now things are not like they used to be. Now girls are also strong. He has two girls. They have said from the beginning that they will not bind the one who asks for dowry.

But there have been many changes in the society now. Jeethu Joseph said. Mohanlal added that as a person who speaks out against dowry and attacks on women in many films, there is a conflict within him and as an actor, he feels saddened when he hears such things. When we hear the news that a child has been kidnapped, we want to hear if he was caught somehow and we have no interest in such crimes in society. Thus, Neer is a film that stops a crime in the society,” says Mohanlal.
