Lokesh Kanakaraj’s Leo starring Vijay in the lead role is the most awaited film in the South Indian film world. After the long wait, the film hit the theaters and received a huge reception from the fans. The film also collected well at the box office. The film has already entered the 500 crore club. There were reports long before the release that the film was inspired by the 2005 Hollywood film A History of Violence. Lokesh included the name of History of Violence and director David Cronenberg on the film’s title card.
Now the director has clarified that it was a tribute to Leo Cronenberg. Lokesh clarified this in an interview given to the American media organization Variety. ‘A History of Violence inspired me to write Leo. That picture left an impression on me. From that Leo was born. Leo is my respect. Leo’s success means a lot not only to me but also to the entire team,’ says Lokesh.
