IFFK  Waiting Since Midnight For The Last Show Of The Day

There is only one answer to the question of which film created the most buzz in the new edition of the Kerala International Film Festival. Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery starring Mammootty. The world premiere of the film at the Tagore Theater on the 12th led to huge protests by the delegates. Complaints were made that those who had made reservations and stood in the queue for hours could not watch the film. The third and final screening of the film for delegates began this morning. Influenced by past experiences, there are people who queue up in front of theaters where the film is being screened from midnight.

After the premiere at Tagore, the second screening of the film was at Aries Plex Audi 1 yesterday. This exhibition was also crowded. The last screening of the film was today at 9.30 am at Ajanta Theatre. When asked whether the film will have a theatrical release, director Lijo Jose Pellissery replied that Mammootty should say so. Some of the delegates also asked Lijo Pellissery to increase the screening at the festival as there are many delegates who could not see the film even though they wanted to. Lijo had replied that he would consider it. But the Academy has not yet informed us whether the number of exhibitions will be increased.

The story of the film, where Mammootty plays James, the owner of a theater troupe, is the same as Lijo’s. The screenplay is written by S Harish. Cinematography by Theni Eshwar.
