Expressing her admiration, she urged everyone to indulge in this beautiful and powerful cinematic experience, acknowledging Mammootty as her hero. Samantha seemed deeply moved by the film, stating that it would take some time to shake off its impact, emphasizing the celestial love it portrays. She also praised Jio Baby, terming the film as epic.
Released on November 23, ‘Kathal’ has garnered acclaim not only in Malayalam but also in Tamil cinema. Many personalities from both industries have commended Mammootty’s daring portrayal of a challenging character. Jyothika’s performance is highlighted as one of the best in her career. The film had a screening at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa and is set to be showcased at the International Film Festival of Kerala from December 8 to 15 in the Malayalam Cinema Today section.
The script for ‘Kathal’ is penned by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria, with George Sebastian as the executive producer. Salu K. Thomas handled the cinematography, Francis Lewis took care of editing, and Mathews Pulikan composed the music. The film also features R.S. Panicker, Sudhi Kozhikode, Chinnu Chandini, Muthumani, and other notable stars. The production boasts a talented team, including Shaji Naduvil for art, Sunil Singh as the line producer, Dixon Podutass as the production controller, and Tony Babu MPSE for sound design. Alina contributed the lyrics, Sameera Saneesh handled costume design, and Amal Chandran managed makeup.
