The second day of box office sales for Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu went well; it brought in between 5 and 4.25 crores, bringing its two-day total to roughly 14.25 crores. The decrease from opening day was 45%, which is typical for a Thursday debut. The movie’s two-day earnings and trend are comparable to those of Silambarasan TR’s prior release, Maanaadu. Though Chennai city fared significantly better than the rest of the state with a dip of just around 50%, the drops were generally similar across the board at around 55%. Only a few states have reported collections outside of Tamil Nadu, with Karnataka reporting the highest total at just under a crore.

After a poor start in July and early August, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is another Tamil movie to have a strong start in the suggesting that the box office is in good form. Though Thiruchitrambalam has done exceptionally well, Viruman and Cobra were unable to capitalize on the opening.
