Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan I, the most significant and much anticipated movie from the South, is getting ready for its world premiere on September 30. The movie is currently being promoted. Photographs of Trisha Krishan, who is portraying Kundavai, were taken during the movie’s promotional events. The first of two parts in a two-part series, which will be released in several languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, is based on the 1955 novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Produced by Mani Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under the banners of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the first form of a two-part series will enjoy a massive cast with Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Trisha as Kundavai, and Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman, along with Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in prominent roles.
The film’s songs and background music were provided by A R Rahman, and the camera work was handled by Ravi Varman. Film editor A. Sreekar Prasad was responsible for the editing.
