The teaser of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s biopic, which is being prepared in Bollywood, has been released. Randeep Hooda plays the titular character in the film titled Swatantra Veer Savarkar. The crew claims that the film is going to tell another level of Indian freedom struggles. Randeep says that Savarkar is the most misunderstood great man and is happy to play such a hero.
Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film is produced by Sandeep Singh and Amit B., and Wadhwani. The film was shot at various locations in Maharashtra, London, and Andaman Island. The movie was announced on Savarkar’s 138th birth anniversary. Randeep made great physical preparations to reach the big screen in the role of Savarkar. He lost more than 18 kg of body weight for the character. The screenplay is prepared by Rishi Virmani along with Mahesh Manjrekar. The makers are planning to release it in theaters this year.
