The Kerala Story Takes An Unexpected Turn Theaters Forced To Cancel Screenings

The Kerala Story is a film that created controversy before its release. Directed by Sudeepto Sen, the film hit the theaters today. Meanwhile, earlier scheduled shows in Kerala have been canceled on some screens. The screenings of the film have been canceled in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram screens of the leading multiplex chain PVR. The shows on PVR screens at Kochi’s Lulu Mall, Oberon Mall, and Thiruvananthapuram Lulu Mall have been canceled. There are reports of shows being canceled in some other theaters in Kerala too.

Tickets for Kerala Story’s PVR screens were already on sale through online ticket booking platforms. But those who bought tickets in advance were getting a message from PVR that the shows have been canceled. But they did not specify the reason for this. The film has released on 21 screens in Kerala. Criticism is being raised that the film, which comes with the theme of converting young women from Kerala to Syria for terrorist activities, is a Sangh Parivar conspiracy. The director is Sudeepto Sen.7 changes have been made in the film as per the instructions of the Censor Board. Meanwhile, the High Court will hear various petitions seeking to block the screening of the film today. Earlier, when the case was heard, the court had sought an explanation from the Central Board of Film Certification.
