Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for 2015 announced,’ Thani Oruvan’ Best Film,Madhavan and Jothika best actors

Minister for Information and Publicity M.P. Saminathan will present the 2015 State Film Awards on March 6 at T.N. Rajarathinam Kalaiarangam. According to a government press release, winners would get a gold medal as well as a cash prize.

Thani Oruvan has been named the greatest film of the year 2015. Pasanga 2 wins second place, Prabha takes third, and Irudhi Suttru wins the special prize. 36 Vayathinile will receive the prize for best depiction of women in film.

Madhavan has been named best actor for his lead part in Iruthi Suttru, while Jothika has won best actress for her work in 36 Vayathinile. Gowtham Karthik will receive the special award for best actor for his role in the film Vai Raja Vai, while Rithika Singh will be recognized for her role in the film Iruthi Suttru.

Aravind Swamy takes up the trophy for best villain. Comedians Singam Puli for his role in Anjukku Onnue, Devadarshini for her performance in Thiruttu Kalyanam, and 36 Vayathinile receive the prize for best comedians.

Sudha Kongara receives the prize for best director, while Gibron is named best music director.
