Shahid Kapoor and team ‘Jersey’ declared on Tuesday that they have delayed the release of their film that was scheduled for a New Year’s Eve release. The report about the postponement for the fourth opportunity arrives in the midst of a flood in the Covid cases in the nation and worries over the Omicron variation. “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines, we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film ‘Jersey’. Fans were really disappointed with the delay, However, South star Nani, who played the lead in the first Telugu version of the film, supported Shahid and the group behind the Hindi remake. In an interview, Nani conceded that in spite of the fact that he has not watched the film, he is certain of its success. “Jersey will do very well and [I am] sure it will be a blockbuster,” he was cited saying.
While he also mentioned that he is excited about what the creators have done in this new change, he got somewhat defensive of his film and character, saying, “Jersey is and always will be my film.”
