Re-release is all the rage in Kollywood. After Gilli, another Vijay film is hitting the theaters again. Vijay’s film Sachin, which was released in 2005, is about to be re-released. The film will hit theatres in April next year, marking 20 years.
Taking into account the success of Vijay’s film Gilli, the makers are preparing a grand promotion for the film. Many films have already been re-released in Kollywood. No other film has received the kind of acceptance that Gilli has. Gilli entered the 30 crore club in its re-release. Gilly was released in 320 theatres. With a budget of 8 crores, Gilli became Vijay’s first film to enter the 50 crore club. The show ran for more than 200 days at the Gilli Theatre. The film also raised the star value of the winner.
On April 14, 2005, Sachin hit the theater. Vijay and actress Genelia D’Souza were a superhit film together. Considered as one of Vijay’s best films. Sachin revolves around two college students who find love for each other. In the film, Sachin plays a carefree young man who does everything according to his own will. Genelia played a fashion technology student. The film was directed by John Mahendra. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for the film.
