The Women’s Reservation Bill has been introduced as the first bill in the new Parliament building. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the bill as the 128th constitutional amendment in the Lok Sabha. Now Bollywood actress Esha Gupta has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Women’s Reservation Bill. Isha Gupta says what Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done is a beautiful thing and through this women will also get equal power. This is a big step for the progress of the country.
Isha added that the Prime Minister has kept his promise. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the number of women MPs in the Lok Sabha will increase from 82 to 181 if women’s reservation is implemented. Once the bill becomes law, it will become a significant milestone in the history of Indian democracy. But women reservation will not be implemented in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The provision of the bill states that reservation for women will be implemented only after the re-determination of constituencies. Meanwhile, there will be no reservation for women in Rajya Sabha and state legislative councils.
