The highly anticipated film “Chandramukhi 2,” starring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut, had its theatrical release on September 28th. Directed by P. Vasu and produced by Subhaskaran under Lyca Productions, this movie was the sequel to the iconic “Chandramukhi,” which featured Rajinikanth, Jyothika, and Nayanthara. While “Chandramukhi 2” generated significant buzz prior to its release, it did not meet the lofty expectations at the box office. As a result, the film is now set to make its way to OTT platforms, including Netflix, on the 27th of this month.
Upon its theatrical release, “Chandramukhi 2” had high hopes of replicating the success of its predecessor. However, the film did not enjoy the same level of triumph, and it’s reported that the production company incurred a loss of approximately 20 crores despite an initial investment of 60 crores.Lawrence’s Perspective: During the audio launch of his upcoming film “Jigar Thanda-Double X,” Raghava Lawrence addressed the performance of “Chandramukhi 2.” He mentioned, “I was paid for ‘Chandramukhi 2’ and co-starred with four heroines. We will not succeed all the time in life. I thought of becoming a dance master when I was working as a side dancer. Then, I became a director and hero. I am getting opportunities as a hero by God’s grace. We don’t have to think about hits and flops. We have to do our job.” Lawrence’s words emphasize the importance of focusing on the craft and embracing the ebb and flow of success in the film industry.
