After Kantara Movie, A Big Budget Movie Based On Theyam In Malayalam; ‘Kathivanur Veeran’

Kantara is the film that brought the fame of Kannada cinema to the whole of India. The film has become the biggest hit in Kannada after the KGF franchise. Belonging to the action-thriller genre, the film’s portrayal of Bhuthakola stood out. Now a big-budget film is being prepared in Malayalam based on Theyam, a heritage art form of North Malabar. The movie titled Kativanoor Veeran is directed by Girish Kunnummal.

The makers say that this film will take Theiyakolam to an indescribable level with state-of-the-art audio-visual excellence. Girish Kunnummal said that the production cost is expected to be around 40 crores for the film, which is lined up with prominent South Indian stars. T Pavithran and Rajmohan Nileswaram have written the screenplay and dialogues for the film. Famous Malayalam cinematographer Shaji Kumar is handling the camera for the film. Mithun Mukundan, who is famous for his film Roshak, will compose the background music for this film. The filmmakers have also informed us that Kathivanur Veeran, in which prominent Malayalam and Tamil technical actors are collaborating, will start filming by the end of 2023. The pre-production work of the film has started.

Kantara is a film written and directed by Rishabh Shetty who stars in the lead role. Produced by KGF producer Homballe Films, the Kannada version of the film had a nationwide release. Seeing the success of the subtitled Kannada version, the producers dubbed the film in other languages ​​and released it. All the dubbed versions including Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu are getting good responses at the box office.
