A case has been filed by the cyber crime wing of the Hyderabad City Police against DSP Devi Sri Prasad, a famous Tamil and Telugu music composer. The case is based on the complaint that his latest music album ‘O Pari’ has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. The complaint was filed by Telugu actress and comedian Karate Kalyani. According to the complaint, the composer used fragments of devotional songs in the song, which features scantily clad women dancing. Cybercrime ACP KVM Prasad told the media that a case has been registered against the music director under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code. He also informed that an investigation has been started.

Ao Pari is the song that claims to be the first pan Indian pop song. The song was released as ‘O Pillai’ in Telugu. Devi Sri Prasad herself has acted in the song. The more than four-minute long video released on YouTube has already been viewed by more than two crore people.
