Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries is embarking on an ambitious venture to develop cutting-edge AI supercomputers in India, known as “Raajyat.” This strategic collaboration sees Reliance Industries partnering with the US-based chipmaker Nvidia, marking a significant milestone in India’s pursuit of advancing artificial intelligence and semiconductor chip technologies.This partnership holds immense potential, aligning with India’s strategic objectives in the fields of AI and semiconductor manufacturing. Nvidia, renowned for its expertise in AI technology, aims to create large language models tailored for various languages and optimized for generative AI applications as part of this venture.
Nvidia, in a statement, expressed its commitment to working alongside Reliance Industries to construct an AI infrastructure that surpasses the capabilities of India’s current fastest supercomputers. The collaboration leverages Nvidia’s comprehensive AI supercomputer technology, encompassing CPUs, GPUs, networking solutions, AI operating systems, and model development tools for creating cutting-edge AI models. Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, will play a pivotal role in customer engagement, providing access to the AI supercomputing resources, and overseeing the management of the AI cloud infrastructure.
Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, shared his vision for this groundbreaking partnership, stating that Jio and Nvidia intend to establish a state-of-the-art AI cloud architecture.
