Sesham Mikeil Fathima is a Malayalam comedy drama film written and directed by Manu C. Kumar in his directorial debut. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan in the title role. The film is about a young Malabar-based Muslim woman who desires to become a football commentator.

Fathima’s days begin with the thrill of exciting football commentary. Fatima has taken the first step towards her unattainable dream. Like the heroine of the film, Manu C. took the first step towards his star-studded dream. Director Kumar can now stand with his head held high. Manu C says that he is a director who is capable of making a mark in Malayalam cinema with his first film ‘Arele Maikil Fatima’. Kumar is proving. Actor Kalyani Priyadarshan is single-handedly making Manu Kanda Swapna a success with the film ‘Are Maikil Fatima’.Fatima is a member of a typical Muslim family in Malappuram, where football is a passion in her heart. Locals call Fatima Chelambachi, a talkative girl who has been running around busy with local affairs since her childhood.
Because Uppa Munir and Ikka Asi were football fanatics, football also entered Fatima’s heart, who grew up playing on the ground. It was not her desire to play football, but Fatima wanted to become a football commentator who learned all the 18 points of the game by watching the game. Fathima took the first step towards her dream by commenting on her own IKA’s own game. Disregarding her father’s desire to get her daughter married before her age, Fatima drove to Kochi to make her dream come true. But the game in the city was not the football of goodness in the small grounds of the countryside. For the first time Fatima Chelambachi stumbled in the field of fraud, deceit and treachery.
Fathima is the character that Kalyani Priyadarshan broke through after her breakout performance in ‘Thallumala’ as vlogger Beevatu. Kalyani’s single-handed fight is behind the success of this film. Kalyani is the life and energy of the movie. Kalyani is proving again and again that she did not just enter the cinema by recommendation because her father is a director and her mother is an actress. A special feature of the film is that Kalyani, who had difficulty speaking Malayalam, dubbed herself by speaking the Malappuram dialect with good fluency. Kalyani’s Fatima keeps the audience entertained, laughing and occasionally watering their eyes.
