Actor Unni Mukundan quash attempted rape case in court. Adv. Saibi Jose was present. Saibi again informed the High Court that the complainant had expressed her willingness to settle through email. Saibi stated that the claim that actor Unnimukundan gave a fake settlement affidavit on behalf of the complainant to get bail in the case of insulting womanhood is a blatant lie and the audio message sent by the complainant is in hand. Saibi argued in court that the media is creating unnecessary controversy and trying to make it clear that he has done something wrong.
In February last year, Justice P Gopinath stayed the trial proceedings against Unnimukundan in the Magistrate’s Court. But the plaintiff’s lawyer told the court that he was not aware of the settlement and had not signed such an affidavit. With this, the court canceled the order that stayed the trial process, judging that there was wrongful action in the case. In 2017, when Unnimukundan invited her to write the script, the woman complained that he insulted her femininity by holding her by the arm when she reached the flat in Edapalli. The court found that there was merit in the complaint filed directly in the Magistrate’s Court and started further proceedings.
