Renowned Malayalam Filmmaker KG George Bids Farewell Today

Today marks the farewell of director KG George. The public can pay their respects as his body will be available for viewing at the town hall from 11 am to 3 am, followed by cremation at Ravipuram crematorium at 4 pm. FEFCA General Secretary B. Unnikrishnan announced a condolence meeting at the YMCA hall on the 6th.KG George, known for his impactful screenplay in the film “Nell,” initiated his directing career with “Swapnadanam,” which garnered the National Award for Best Malayalam Film.

His first state award came through the Malayalam classic “Yavanika.” Over a forty-year span, George directed 19 films. George’s films were acclaimed for their diverse themes and the incorporation of current socio-political issues. Each of his cinematic experiments remains timeless. KG George stands as one of the pioneering directors in the country, bringing innovation to themes and storytelling. KG George peacefully passed away on Sunday morning while residing at Kakanad Signature Aged Care.
