Rashmika Mandanna has been named the Coorg Person of the Year 2022 in a poll conducted by a Kodagu-based news portal. The purpose of this award is to “reignite the famed leadership qualities in the community” in the Coorg region.
Rashmika Mandanna was chosen this year because she achieved phenomenal success with the pan-India film ‘Pushpa- The Rise’ and brought attention to the tiny hill district of Kodagu, also known as Coorg, a popular tourist destination inhabited by Kodavas in Karnataka, which has a distinct culture. Rashmika attended Coorg Public School in Gonikoppal, Kodagu, before graduating from M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Bengaluru with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Journalism, and English Literature.
On the one hand, Rashmika has received a lot of backlashes and trolls in recent weeks for her statements and actions in interviews. Rashmika was overjoyed to learn that she had been chosen as the ‘Coorg Person Of The Year 2022,’ and she expressed her joy on Twitter by thanking the online portal.

Rashmika is waiting for the release of the Tamil blockbuster ‘Varisu,’ starring Vijay. The film will be released next week as a festive treat of Pongal.
