Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister in charge of the Home Department, said that the new evidence received in connection with the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput is being examined. Sushant Singh was found hanging dead at home in June 2020. Various agencies registered a case of murder and conducted an investigation, but no significant evidence was found. Meanwhile, some people came forward saying that they have evidence. Fadnavis said that the police are going through the evidence in their possession but before that, it is not possible to say how important it is.
In the case related to Sushant Singh’s death, his girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty was the prime accused. Sushant Singh was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Bureau on the grounds that Rhea had given him drugs. Later, the Bombay High Court granted bail to her. Days before Sushant’s death, his secretary Disha Salian also fueled the controversy.
