Controversy in the name of the new film ‘Jailer ‘ starring Rajinikanth as the hero. Director Zakir Mathil has stated that the name ‘Jailor’ was first registered for the film starring Dhyan Srinivasan. We registered the name ‘Jailer’ with the Kerala Film Chamber on 21st August 2021. But Zakir Math also says that they will register Rajinikanth’s movie ‘Jailer’ in 2022. We were thinking of releasing our film ‘Jailer ‘ in August. But Rajinikanth starrer ‘Jailer ‘ has been announced for release on August 10. That’s when we sent them a notice. They made it clear that our name should not be used at least in Kerala. Because Kerala is a small industry. It’s a movie you have a worldwide release. The name ‘Jailer’ has no more scope in Malayalam cinema as there is an actor named Mohanlal. But they replied that they cannot change the name as it is a corporate body. They sent a lawyer notice to change our name. Director Zakir Mathil makes it clear that the current situation is in crisis.
Nelson is directing Rajinikanth’s Jailer. As the name suggests, Rajinikanth plays the role of a ‘Jailer’ in the film. Mohanlal also makes a cameo appearance. The film is produced by Sun Pictures. Dhyan Srinivasan’s film is a period thriller. Dhyan Srinivasan will play the role of a jailer. The cinematography of the film is done by Mahadevan Thambi. Dhyan is produced by NK Muhammad under the banner of Golden Village.
