Unnikrishnan also spoke about how FEFKA has grown from a very small membership to an organisation that today consists of several unions. He recalled that the Covid period was a time when all sectors, including the film industry, were paralysed, and at that time, people from outside the organisation were also helping their members. Meanwhile, Mohanlal is all set to make his directorial debut with Barroz. The official launch of the film, which was announced in April 2019, was on 24 March 2021. The film was shot in 170 days. Mohanlal plays the titular role in Barroz. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Films.
The film is based on the story of Jijo, who directed India’s first 3D film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’. Lydian Nadhaswaram is the film’s music director. Burroughs was Lydian’s first film to win the CBS World’s Best Performer Award. Recording for the film took place at the Famous Project Studios in the Macedonian capital, Skopia. Barroz is Mohanlal’s directorial debut film. Foreign actors like Raphael Armago, Paz Vega, Cesar Laurentto and some of the finest actors in Malayalam and other Indian languages are part of the film. The film was earlier scheduled to release on March 28. The makers of the film have decided to give a special gift to Mohanlal’s fans on his birthday.
