Major Ravi is a former Indian Army Officer who has ventured into Malayalam cinema as a film director. He is known for making movies dedicated to Indian Military service and is a true patriot. Except his debut film, he has chosen Indian military as the theme of his films and in most cases they were big hits at box office too. Ravi is known for his association with actor Mohanlal and Keerthi Chakra, their first project was a huge hit at box-office too. Actor Amitabh Bachchan has worked in a single Malayalam movie in his lifetime till now – It’s for Kandhahar, aside Mohanlal though the movie failed to make an impact at box office. His films have been instrumental for getting Lt Colonel position to Mohanlal, the only Indian actor to get this position of military. He was given this position so that youth gets inspired by it to join military. As a jawan Major Ravi is a recipient of Indian President’s medal.
