Liger is a film directed by Puri Jagannath and starring Vijay Devarakonda. Vijay Devarakonda played the role of a boxer in the film. Along with him, famous boxer Mike Tyson, Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan and many others played important roles.
Made at a huge cost, the film released in multiple languages including Tamil and Telugu on August 25 and received mixed reviews.It is said that Vijay Devarakonda received a salary of Rs 15 crore for this film and there was an agreement to share in the profit. Due to the failure of the film’s collections, Vijay Devarakonda returned Rs. 6 crore and said that he did not want to share in the profits, and director Puri Jagannath also returned 70 percent of the salary to the producers.
It was reported that the film company has decided to drop Vijay Devarakonda’s next film Jana Gana Mana as the film Liger did not earn as much as expected. According to film sources, Vijay Devarakonda is willing to act in Jana Gana Mana without taking salary. It is said that the film crew is considering resuming the work of the film if Vijay Devarakonda does not get paid.
