In a recent development, the High Court has quashed the case against actor Unni Mukundan, who was accused of insulting a young woman. The complainant informed the court that the case has been settled, and this resolution was approved by Justice P. Gopinath’s order.The complaint stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred on August 23, 2017. The woman had filed her complaint on September 15, 2017, accusing Unni Mukundan of attempting to molest her when she visited his flat. The incident reportedly took place after she had been invited to discuss a movie story with the actor.
During the legal proceedings, the complainant asserted that the actor had subsequently tried to defame and threaten her in the aftermath of the incident. In response, Unni Mukundan had also filed a complaint against the woman, claiming that she was lying and had threatened him. He alleged that the woman had attempted to extort Rs 25 lakh from him to avoid legal consequences.Previously, the court had granted bail to Unni Mukundan in connection with this case.”
