Surya and I grew up in different circumstances. Me in Mumbai and Surya in Tamil Nadu. It was only after joining Surya’s family that I gave importance to family ties and traditional values. All the women in the family are a team. The men are another team. Surya will stand in the middle. Good relationship with everyone. Everyone is busy. Karthi and Suriya are always busy acting. Father will be busy with speeches and so on. But there is a rule in the house. Everyone should eat together. I have learned a lot from that family’ – said Jyothika.
‘It’s even influencing roles now. Surya’s father was more against our marriage. A film actress was not interested in becoming his son’s wife. But Surya was firm in his decision and the marriage took place. My father has been very supportive of my return to cinema’ – added Jyothika. Surya and Jyothika got married in 2006.
