Prabhas Adipurush Already A Sensation, Recovers 85% Budget Pre-Release

The pre-release business of a film is a yardstick that can measure both the pre-release hype and the current market value of the lead starSome of the films that get huge pre-release hype are often surprised by the amount they get from various rights sales. Now Prabhas’s multilingual film Adipurush has made it to that list. According to reports, the budget for the epic mythological film based on Ramayana is 500 crores. The latest reports are that about 85 percent of the film has been withdrawn before its release.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the film grossed Rs 247 crore through sales of satellite, digital, music, and other rights. The report of Bollywood Hungama also states that the film has earned Rs 185 crore through theatrical distribution rights from South India. So a total of 432 crores! The movie is releasing on June 16. Expected to have a good opening, trade analysts estimate that the film will collect 100 crores in the first three days from the Hindi version alone if it garners positive reviews. Filmed in Hindi and Telugu, the film has been dubbed into Tamil, Malayalam, and other foreign languages. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishnakumar and Om Rawat under the banner of T-Series and Retrophiles.
