Actress Kanakalatha passed away

Movie star Kanakalata passed away. He died at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram. He died while undergoing treatment for Parkinson’s and amnesia. Kanakalata came to cinema from drama. He also played notable roles on the mini screen. Kanakalatha’s sister Vijayamma revealed about Kanakalatha’s illness last year. The disease has worsened since 2021. It started with lack of sleep. After seeing a doctor in August 2022, he was diagnosed with dementia. An MRI scan also revealed that the brain was shrinking. 

Then he was under treatment. Kanakalatha was divorced after 16 years of marriage. No children. The actress became active in Malayalam cinema through the lens of Lenin Rajendran. The King’s Son, Kariyam, Appu, Inspector Balram, Kauravas, Manate Kottaram, Athira Kanmani, Thacholi Varghese Chekavar, Sphatikam, Priyam are all notable films. Kanakalatha has acted in over 300 films. Kanakalata was also active in Tamil films.
