The OTT release date for Indian Matchmaking season 2 is out. The second season of the reality series on arranged marriages Indian Matchmaking will premiere on August 12, according to a Monday Netflix announcement. In addition, the biggest paid streaming service in the world released images from Indian Matchmaking season 2 to give viewers a preview of what to anticipate from the reality show this time around. The eighth episode of the new season of Indian Matchmaking is an hour long.

Like its Emmy-nominated predecessor, the second season of Indian Matchmaking will center on matchmaker Sima Taparia as she assists her clients in finding compatible partners for arranged marriages. As Indian Matchmaking season 2 goes on, she will go through biodata and give clients individualized counsel. Both fresh daters and “known faces” will appear in the newest episode.

Taparia told Variety: “The love I’ve gotten from the fans of the show has been wonderful. Matchmaking is my passion, and it’s a joy to share my work with audiences around the world. Sima from Mumbai is back!”

With Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman, and J.C. Begley serving as executive producers, Smriti Mundhra, the show’s creator, expressed her hope that the second season will live up to the precedent set by the first: “The response to Season 1 of Indian Matchmaking was overwhelming, and we’re thrilled to be back with more episodes that explore the rollercoaster of emotions and tough conversations on the journey to finding love.”

When Indian Matchmaking made its debut in 2020, it attracted a good amount of interest because of its idea and for highlighting South Asian traditions. However, the reality show came under fire for encouraging prejudice based on caste, skin color, and gender stereotypes. Despite this, a second season was ordered with an open casting call in August 2021. Netflix then approved a third season early in 2022.
