Sundar Pichai is implementing a new strategy to increase staff productivity

Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, is putting into practice a new strategy that he thinks will not only increase staff productivity but also build a stronger sense of community and togetherness.

Three questions regarding working at Google will be the subject of a poll known as the “Simplicity Sprint” that will run through August 15. If executives believe that a particular employee’s response contains information that the company could use and turn into policy, they will examine the responses and get in touch with them.

The three questions are:

  • What would help you work with greater clarity and efficiency to serve our users and customers?
  • Where should we remove speed bumps to get better results faster?
  • How do we eliminate waste and stay entrepreneurial and focused as we grow?

The survey’s open-ended format gives the tech company’s 176,000 employees a chance to feel like they have a voice in corporate decisions while simultaneously serving as a crowdsourcing tool for fresh ideas on how to improve the business.

In its Q2 2022 financial report released last month, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, recorded revenue of $69.7 billion, up 13% over the same period in 2017.

Sundar Pichai assigned the company’s success so far this year to its investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and other computer programming initiatives. “In the second quarter, our performance was driven by Search and Cloud. The investments we’ve made over the years in AI and computing are helping to make our services particularly valuable for consumers, and highly effective for businesses of all sizes,” the CEO said in a release. “As we sharpen our focus, we’ll continue to invest responsibly in deep computer science for the long-term.”
