MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, was taken to a Chennai hospital two days after his COVID-19 test was positive. According to a notification from Kauvery Hospital, the Chief Minister was admitted for examination and observation due to symptoms associated with Covid. On Tuesday, MK Stalin’s test result was positive.
In a tweet he had then said, “There was fatigue today, and following confirmation of COVID19 on testing I have isolated myself”. He added, “Let’s all stay safe wearing masks and getting vaccinated”.

Over the last few days, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was seen with no mask in photographs the government had shared. Mr. Stalin had attended a wedding on the 11th and 12th and met with a party that included K Veeramani, the leader of the Dravidar Kazhagam. In spite of the massive crowds present, Mr. Stalin attended official events in the Tiruvannamalai area on the 8th and 9th of the previous week without wearing a mask.

Later, while he checked on the construction of storm drains in the Chengalpattu area and preparations for the next World Chess Olympiad, the Chief Minister was visible without a mask. Dr. Ramadoss, the head of the PMK, is now in isolation as well after testing positive yesterday.
The average daily Covid count in Tamil Nadu is 2,000. 2,269 instances were reported in the state yesterday, with 729 cases coming from Chennai. There are 18,282 current cases in the entire state.
