One of the best movies made by the Tamil cinema industry in recent years is without a doubt Jai Bhim, the courtroom social drama that served as the first project for Suriya and director TJ Gnanavel. The difficult topic faced by the Irular tribe was tackled in the film, which is based on the real-life lawyer K Chandru. Lijo Mol Jose played a crucial part in the movie, which also included Suriya as Advocate K Chandru. Currently, the project’s producer Rajsekar Pandian has released an update.

Jai Bhim will have a sequel, producer Rajsekar Pandian recently announced during a media session at IFFI Goa. The producer claims that discussions for the proposed franchise film by TJ Gnanavel’s second chapter are already underway. “They are in the pipeline since the discussions have already started,” revealed the producer. It has also been confirmed that Jai Bhim 2 will depict yet another episode in the life of Adv. K Chandru, who eventually emerged as a Justice.

In an interview with the media at IFFI Goa, director TJ Gnanavel discussed working with Suriya on Jai Bhim. The journalist-turned-filmmaker claims that he first approached Rajsekar Pandian and Suriya to produce the movie. However, the National Award-winning actor declared his wish to play Advocate K Chandru in the movie since he was so deeply impacted by the matter. Suriya, Jyothika, and Rajsekar Pandian are the producers of Jai Bhim under the 2D Entertainments label.

The film maker is going to start working on the script of the Jai Bhim sequel.
