Reportedly, director Vetrimaran and Vijay are teaming up for the film with powerful themes. Director Tamil, who is a close friend of Vetrimaran, hinted at this regard. But no official announcement has been made in this regard. Vijay is currently acting in the film ‘Leo’ directed by Lokesh Kanakraj. Vijay recently completed the Kashmir schedule of Lokesh Kanakaraj’s film. The workers of ‘Leo’ had released a video featuring the people who worked in Vijay’s film in Kashmir. Trisha is the heroine in the film. It also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun, Mathew Thomas, Myshkin, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, and Babu Antony.
Vijay’s last release was ‘Varisu’ directed by Vamshi Paidipally. SJ Suriya also played an important role in the Vijay starrer ‘Waris’. ‘Varisu’ has the distinction of being Vijay and SJ Suriya’s fourth film together. The film is produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film has a huge cast of stars like Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Sarathkumar Srikanth, Sham, Sangeeta Krish, Samyukta, and others. The jukebox featuring songs ‘Ranjitame’, ‘Soul of Varisu’, ‘Jimiki Ponn’, and ‘Va Thalaiva’ from the film, composed by S Thaman, was a huge hit before its release. Vijay’s film has been released in Kerala as a Pongal release in Tamil and Telugu by Hari Pictures E for Entertainment and Ace.
