Awaiting release is the movie Liger, starring Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Puri Jagannadh. One of the most anticipated movies of the year also has major roles for Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishna. In the film, American boxer Mike Tyson makes a lengthy cameo appearance. The Liger lead stars have begun the movie’s promotion, and they most recently attended an event at a mall in Navi Mumbai. Ananya and Vijay were forced to leave the event midway through, though.
Vijay and Ananya arrived at the mall on Sunday and it was packed with their fans. After seeing him, the Arjun Reddy actor’s fans went into a frenzy. Vijay was heard telling the audience, “Hum idhar hi hain..thoda araam se.. I am here only,” as he attempted to manage the mob. But as the crowd grew out of control, they were forced to leave the venue in the middle of the performance to ensure both the cast and the audience’s safety. A source from the mall revealed, “The moment Vijay entered the stage, there were sounds of swooning all round. The organizers and volunteers were shocked to see that a few female fans fainted and a few other girls started crying. Loads of fans had posters and sketches of Vijay and then the chants of ‘Vijay we love you’ started.”
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday recently appeared on Karan Johar’s popular chat show, Koffee With Karan 7, and their sarcastic responses generated media attention. The upcoming Hindi and Telugu sports action movie Liger is slated to hit theatres on August 25. It was written and shot simultaneously in both languages. The movie is Vijay’s debut in Hindi cinema.
