Balamurugan, a popular Tamil-Telugu story writer who wrote several films in the Tamil film industry as well as a few Telugu films, died yesterday. Veteran film writer Balamurugan passed away at the age of 86. He died on January 15 from age-related ailments.
His son, the Telugu-Tamil film writer Bhupathi Raja, informed the media that his father died at 8:45 a.m. this morning, after suffering from age-related ailments for several years. He was 86 years old and in poor health.
Balamurugan has written the stories for many superhit Telugu films, including ‘Dharmadatha,’ ‘Alumagalu,’ ‘Soggadu,’ ‘Savaasagallu,’ and ‘Jeevana Tarangalu’. He also contributed to Geetha Arts’ first film, ‘Bantrotu Bharya,’ by writing the story. It goes without saying that the ‘Soggadu’ film starring Shobhan Babu was a huge blockbuster in Tollywood and still has cult status today.
Balamurugan, a former star writer in the south, has also written stories for several well known Tamil actors. He wrote stories for about 30 to 40 of Sivaji Ganesan’s films. After learning of Balamurugan’s death, Tamil and Telugu film celebrities began to mourn…!
