Tollywood will remain closed today as a tribute to actor Krishna

With the passing of superstar Krishna, the Telugu film industry has lost one of its greatest actors in history. At the age of 79, the renowned actor passed away on November 14 after a cardiac arrest. The Telugu Film Producers Council made a significant choice while the industry and viewers were still coming to terms with the enormous loss. It was declared that the Telugu film industry will remain closed today, November 16, as a sign of respect to the great veteran actor.

In a press release, the Telugu Film Producers Council made the decision public. The Telugu Film Producers Council declared that the industry will be closed on November 16 for a day as a sign of respect to Superstar Krishna.

According to the early reports, superstar Krishna’s mortal remains will be stored at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Stadium so that the spectators may honour the late hero. Now, though, there are reports that the event has been postponed. The lifeless remains of Krishna Garu shall be maintained at his Nanakaramguda home while the traffic restrictions are taken into consideration.

On November 16, the late superstar Krishna will be cremated in Mahaprasthanam. According to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s instructions, he would be cremated with full state honours.

Superstar Krishna, a legendary figure in Tollywood, died on the 15th of November morning at around 4 AM. He was 79 years old. At a private hospital in Hyderabad, the renowned actor and Mahesh Babu’s father experienced cardiac arrest and passed away. The Ghattamaneni family and the Telugu cinema industry have both been shocked by the tragic news.

Ghattamaneni Krishna, also known as Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, was one of the most well-known and financially successful stars in the 1970s and 1980s. The actor, whose nearly five-decade-long film career included more than 350 parts, was responsible for blockbuster hits. Apart from acting and producing films, Krishna was also a trendsetter in introducing new technologies and genres such as Cinemascope, 70MM film and more. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2009 for his contribution to Telugu cinema.
