Telugu actor M Balayya dies at 94

Veteran actor M Balayya died on Saturday morning at his home in Hyderabad. He was 94. Balayya had acted in more than 300 movies. Numerous Tollywood celebs are giving sympathies to the departed soul. Actor and MLA Balakrishna wrote a note to communicate his most profound sympathies.

He made his debut as an entertainer with Ethuku Pai Ethu – a social movie directed by Tapi Chanakya and made by Sarathi Studios. Movies like Parvati Kalyanam, Bhagyadevata, Kumkuma Rekha laid out him as an actor. He acted in almost 300 movies and made Amrutha films in 1970. A play was written by him Nalupu Telupu (Black-white) was later made into Chelleli Kapuram and got the Gold Nandi award from Andhra Pradesh Government.

Balayya was born at Chavupadu, Amaravathi mandalam, Guntur district to Mannava Guravaiah Chowdary and Annapurnamma. Inspired by the drama during his college days, he entered into the film industry with guidance from Tapi Chanakya. He was best known for playing the roles of judge and police officers in the movies.

As a director, he made movies such as Police Alludu, Pasupu Taadu, Nijam Chebite Nerama. M Balayya also won Nandi awards as a writer and producer.
