Indira Devi, the mother of Mahesh Babu and the wife of famous actor Krishna, took her last breath today in Hyderabad. Indira Devi was reportedly not feeling well for a few weeks and was receiving treatment for it at a private hospital. She reportedly spent some time on a ventilator until she passed away, according to several reports.
Sharing the sad news, the family shared a statement that read, “Shri Ghattamaneni Indira Devi, the wife of Superstar Krishna and mother of Superstar Mahesh Babu passed away today morning. Today from 9.00AM, her body will be kept at the Padmalaya studio for people to visit & later the last rites will be performed at Mahaprasthan. #IndiraDevi.” Mahesh Babu and his father Krishna have been comforted by family and friends. Indira Devi’s mortal remains will be preserved at Padmalaya Studios for ceremonial purposes, and today at Mahaprasthan, her final rituals will be performed.
Megastar Chiranjeevi paid tribute to the deceased as he tweeted, “The news of Mrs. Indira Devi passing away is very sad. I express my deepest condolences to Superstar Krishna, brother Mahesh Babu, and all the family members.”
Mahesh Babu, a celebrity, has had a difficult year due to the death of his older brother, actor Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu, in January 2022. Due to problems with his liver, the actor passed away at the age of 56. The Sarkaru Vaari Paata actor and Ramesh Babu were good friends, and the two of them even appeared together onscreen in movies like Needa and Bazaar Rowdy.
