South films to watch on OTT platforms this weekend

It’s the weekend, which means it’s time to have fun. And since movies are the first thing that comes to mind when we think of entertainment. There are a tonne of OTT releases this week, ranging from rom-coms to mass masala. Now that it’s time to binge, here is a list of South Indian films that have recently been launched on various OTT platforms and that you really must not miss.

Vikrant Rona

After a successful run in theatres, Vikrant Rona debuted on September 2 on the Kannada-language OTT platform Zee 5. As the movie is pan-Indian, it will debut on Hotstar + Disney on September 16 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. The movie, which was directed by Anup Bhandari, stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Kichcha Sudeep in the key roles.

Rama Rao On Duty

The Ravi Teja action film should not be missed if you want to watch a big-budget film. On September 15, the Telugu action mystery movie with Ravi Teja and Dimple Hayathi finally got its OTT debut on SonyLiv. The plot of Sarath Mandava’s directorial debut film, Ramarao On Duty, is based on actual events, and it is set in 1995.

Attention Please

Attention Please is a Malayalam thriller that talks eloquently about current social issues and was written and directed by Jithin Issac Thomas. Vishnu Govindham, Athira Kallingal, Sreejith, and other well-known actors play significant roles in the film. It is available on Netflix for streaming.

Viruman

Viruman, a Tamil megahit movie starring Karthi, is currently available on Amazon Prime. Karthi appears in the movie in a ‘desi’ avatar for his devoted followers. The film, which is directed by M Muthaiah and stars Aditi Shankar, the daughter of renowned director Shankar, making her acting debut. Suriya and Jyothika are in charge of producing the movie under the 2D Entertainment label.
