This time South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) was held in our Bangalore. This was the first time that artists from other film industry had come to Bangalore to receive the award they had won. On the first day, the award ceremony of Kannada and Telugu cinema was held and on Saturday, the award ceremony of Tamil and Malayalam cinema was held on Sunday. Now when the nomination for Siima this time was announced, the happiness among Darshan fans can be said to be gone after the show ends. Because Darshan starrer Robert, which was nominated in ten categories, won only in three categories.

Robert director Tarun Sudhir won the Best Director award, Sudhakar Raj won the Best Cinematography award and Arjun Janya won the Best Music Director award. It was expected that Darshan would get the best actor award as he was coming to Siima show for the first time. However, this expectation never came true. This time Puneeth Rajkumar won the best actor award for his performance in the Kannada movie Yuvaratna. It is true that Puneeth got an award for his acting, but as in other languages, why the best actor award in Kannada was not given in two categories is now causing confusion and doubts.Allu Arjun won Best Actor in Telugu at this year’s Saima and Naveen Polishetty won the Critics’ Best Telugu Actor Award.

Best Actor Award in Tamil for Sivakarthikeyan and the Critics Award for Best Actor for Arya. Minnal Murali actor Tovino Thomas won the best actor award in Malayalam and Biju Menon won the critics’ best actor award.Apart from this, two actors have been awarded in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. However, the fact that the best actor award was not given under critics only in Kannada is causing confusion right now. This is the first time that the Kannada Critics Best Actor Award has been left out of Siima. In this year’s Siima, Kannada actresses Ashika Ranganath was awarded the Best Actress award and Badava Rascal actress Amrita Iyengar was awarded the Critics’ Best Actress Award.

Thus, when the actress was given an award under the critics, the question arose that the actor did not care and if there was a critics’ best actor award, would Darshan have got the critics’ best actor award for Robert’s performance? The sad news is that this time Sivakarthikeyan got the Tamil Best Actor Award and Arya got the Critics Best Actor Award. Apart from these two awards, Silambarasan was also given the best award for his performance in Manadu. Thus, the question now is that Siiima, who has given awards to three actors in Tamil, did not give one in Kannada.
