Tamil actor Siddharth says he is disappointed that an event related to his new film Cheetah was canceled due to the Cauvery water dispute. The actor said that the film has nothing to do with the Cauvery water dispute between the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and yet the controversy has caused losses. Siddharth spoke openly on Instagram Live.“A special screening was planned to understand the importance of the film as a producer. It was decided to hold a special screening for 2000 students as well as Kannada film stars as was done in Chennai and Kochi.

But due to the bandh in the state, all the plans had to be cancelled,” said Siddharth. He added that the people’s opportunity to watch and appreciate a good film has been lost. Siddharth said that after the press conference, journalists could watch the film but he did not get a chance to screen the film.During the Cauvery water issue, the protestors said that they will not promote any Tamil film and did not allow Siddharth to speak at the press conference. Siddharth, who said that his film has nothing to do with any political issue, explained in Kannada that his film, which was shot in the local language, titled Chiku, will also be released in Kannada. But after creating a ruckus at the promotion event, Siddharth left the venue.
