The mythological drama Shaakuntalam, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was written and directed by Gunasekhar. The actor Dev Mohan will play Dushyanta, the monarch of the Puru Dynasty, in the movie, which is based on the well-known Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa.
