Samantha Ruth Prabhu is on the verge of anchoring the mythical drama film Shaakuntalam, a directorial and creation of famed Telugu film-maker Gunasekhar, after a significant breakthrough with Telugu action-thriller Yashoda. Samantha will play Shakuntala, Dushyanta’s wife, and Emperor Bharata’s mother, in the film, which will be released next month. For the time being, Samantha is content to share frequent updates on herself and has even introduced her new ‘best-friend’ to her fans.

On Saturday, the Yashoda actress posted a charming selfie of herself wearing a brand-new round spectacles to her Instagram stories. Samantha referred to her glasses as her new best friend as she grinned for the camera. Along with the snap, she wrote, “Glasses are my new best friend.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu also released a video from her training routine earlier this week, which included peeks of her autoimmune diet. In the video, she did some rigorous pull-ups in her purple sportswear while thanking the band Gravity for giving her the courage and inspiration she needed to get through difficult times in her life. Samantha was diagnosed with the rare auto-immune condition Myositis in November 2022, for which she has been receiving therapy.

Meanwhile, Samantha Ruth Prabhu looks to have returned to work after taking a leave of absence to cure her auto-immune ailment Myositis. The actress has now teamed up with Bollywood star Varun Dhawan for the Indian adaptation of the sci-fi series Citadel, according to a news portal. Shaakuntalam, on the other hand, is a whimsical love story set in Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir), with the grandeur and splendour of Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty making the picture highly special. The movie will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
