One of the biggest blockbusters in the Indian cinema business is RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli. Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, two well-known Telugu actors, played the main characters in the historical action drama. KV Vijayendra Prasad, a well-known author and the father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli, wrote the script for RRR. The master craftsman previously stated that he would love to create a sequel to the magnum opus during the RRR screening in Chicago. Now that RRR 2 has received an interesting update, author Vijayendra Prasad has finally released it.
When asked if there would be a sequel to RRR, SS Rajamouli responded, “I would absolutely love to. I can’t reveal many details about it but my father, who has been a screenwriter for all my films including RRR… We discussed a bit about it, and he is working on the story.” For the movie buffs, who are completely enamored with the world the director built with Ram Charan and Jr. NTR’s film, the filmmaker’s admission came as a huge surprise.
It’s interesting to note that RRR 2’s story has now been locked, according to writer KV Vijayendra Prasad. To the delight of Telugu movie fans, the seasoned scenarist said that the film’s team has finally “cracked the sequel’s plot.” In that case, in a few months, we can anticipate a significant update to RRR 2.
For the uninformed, RRR presented a fictional tale based on a fictitious friendship between Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komuram Bheem, two real-life liberation warriors. In the movie, Ram Charan played Sitarama Raju and Jr. NTR played Komuram Bheem. There is a good probability that RRR 2 will be based on a different scenario, one that takes place in the Telugu states before independence, assuming it is ever produced.
Even though Ram Charan and Jr. NTR are likely to return as Sitarama Raju and Bheem, it’s possible that the eagerly awaited movie may only serve as a spiritual sequel and not the official sequel to RRR. To yet, no official confirmation has been made about any of these reports. The makers will reveal more details regarding the plot and lead characters of RRR 2, only after the final draft of the screenplay is locked.
